Durango City Council approved an ordinance on April 1 to accept a land donation from the Durango Mesa Park Foundation.

Preliminary results for the April 1 municipal election showed that Jessika Buell, Shirley Gonzales, and Kip Koso were elected to a four-year term on the city council and that Ballot Question 2A passed (reflecting local voter support) (with outcomes pending final certification).

The City of Durango will carry out spring cleaning throughout April by collecting old furniture, large appliances, scrap, and tree trimmings while residents check the City website for pickup details—the city will also celebrate Earth Day on April 12 with a parade starting at 10:30 a.m. and live music at Buckley Park and launch Restaurant Week from April 12 through April 21 with discounted menus.
