🏛️ Government
Colorado lawmakers are considering bipartisan legislation to allow the EPA to pay outstanding claims from the 2015 Gold King Mine Spill—Durango Mayor Jessika Buell and La Plata County Commissioners say the measure will help local small businesses and families.
The proposal aims to remove the barriers that previously limited compensation for those still affected by the spill.
County Road 251 — known as 32nd Street — will be closed starting Monday, March 17 between East Animas Village Drive and County Road 250 while county crews complete reconstruction that began last year.
The second phase of the project aims to improve road safety and traffic flow.
