- ➤ The Southern Ute Bear Dance returns at the end of May in Ignacio with a Bear Dance Corral blessing on Friday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m., a powwow at Sky Ute Casino Resort, and a feast at noon, with visitors required to follow the dress code and no photography allowed. The Colorado Department of Transportation began construction on US Highway 550 on May 12, which is causing weekday delays up to 20 minutes, while the Community Foundation is hosting two nonprofit workshops at TBK Bank in Durango on June 17 (registration $50) and June 18 (registration $100).
