- ➤ The City of Durango is asking residents to save water this summer because a below-average snowpack and rapid melting have raised concerns about regional water supplies. - ➤ Council appointed Councilors Kip Koso and Dave Woodruff to join the fire district ballot exploratory working group in a May 20 meeting—where the group reviewed options for a potential mill rate increase. City of Durango
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Durango cyclists are getting ready for the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic from May 23rd to May 25th and US Highway 50 will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the race route (including non-competitive and professional options) while the La Plata Electric Association received a $2 million grant to launch a battery storage project west of Durango (expected to boost energy reliability for 2,800 homes).
