The City of Durango received a Sterling Best Practices Award from the Florida Sterling Council for its Building a Culture of Service—Societal Impact through Engagement, recognizing its strong commitment to community service.

Durango La-Plata County Airport expansion is on schedule as construction continues on a new baggage claim and arrivals hall set to open in late summer.

The project will add terminal space, new gates, a security checkpoint and a larger baggage area by 2026—officials say the work meets growing needs as passenger traffic has nearly doubled since the terminal opened in 1988.
