- ➤ Elizabeth Filbrick was sworn in to fill the District 1 county commissioner seat in La Plata County after former Commissioner Clyde Church retired; she will serve until the term ends in 2026. The Mountain Studies Institute invites residents to join Forest Health Stewardship Day on July 17th (9:00 a.m. to noon) at the lower Hermosa Creek Trailhead, and the La Plata County Fair will run August 6th through 10th with rodeos, food, and live shows.
