City officials released the meeting schedule for the week of August 4, 2025 (posted on August 1) and it shows the Council will vote on a partnership to bring back the mountain bike championship, Councilor Shirley Gonzales will hold office hours on August 6, and water service on 8th Avenue will be interrupted on August 5; meeting agendas and minutes are available online (via the city website) for review.
The new 15,500 square foot fire station at 1235 Camino Del Rio in downtown opened today for the Durango Fire Department to house a ladder truck, an engine, two ambulances, an EMS captain and eight crew members.
Construction continues to add safety features and extra space — including improved road access, parking, and gardens — with a public open house planned for October once the work is completed.
Councilor Shirley Gonzales will hold Council Office Hours at the Durango Public Library (1900 East Third Ave.) on Wednesday, Aug.
