La Plata County has chosen to renovate the Main Avenue fairgrounds because a new facility at Durango Mesa Park was too expensive given available funds of $8 million — construction will begin this fall with the facility closing from Sept 8th to Nov 2nd as key safety and infrastructure systems are upgraded.
