Durango’s 22nd Annual Festival of Trees and Wreaths opens Monday, November 24th at the Railroad Museum—its displays include a scavenger hunt, silent auction and People’s Choice Awards while the downtown Singing with Santa celebration on November 28th offers free hot chocolate, cookies and live music. The National Fire Protection Association warns that Thanksgiving is the top day for home cooking fires and advises careful kitchen safety.
