The Three Springs Fall Festival will take place Saturday, October 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Three Springs Plaza near Mercy Hospital with trick-or-treating, a scavenger hunt, and a coloring contest to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Durango Friends of the Library will hold its fall book sale on November 7th and 8th at the Public Library, and the Colorado State University Extension of La Plata County will host its Women in Agriculture Conference on November 13th and 14th at the La Plata County Fairgrounds to focus on Colorado's changing climate.

The City of Durango has chosen Southwest Community Partners, LLC to build up to 31 workforce housing units on a city-owned lot in the Rivergate neighborhood — the project aims to expand affordable housing for local workers.

The City of Durango will host the final Downtown’s Next Step community meeting on October 29 — it will ask residents for feedback on proposed materials, furniture, and colors for the final street and sidewalk design.
